Description

  • One audio cassette recording. Jaya and Nila Radhakrishnan give a demonstration of East Indian dance along with an explanation of the music, story (Jaya), and steps (Nila); they perform a composition of Nila's father, C.V. Radhakrishnan, called "Amida Budgeon." Bill Lee and Beth Gill (of the Sarasota Sailor Circus) discuss the circus; Lee focuses on circus traditions and history while Gill discusses the school and work required and relationships with friends and family. Because this was the 40th festival, the Crossroads area was partly devoted to performers who contributed to the festival's past and development.
