Description

  • Sixty-five color slides. Images are of Silver Springs boat tours and boat drivers. The springs are one of the oldest roadside attractions in Florida. Developed formally in the 1920s, boat tours have been given since the mid-1800s by local residents. Images include the boat drivers: David Faison (821-826, 850-858); Utz (827-847), Klotz (848-849, 859-867); and Jokler (868-875); as well as the boats, springs, park facilities, and tourists. Recordings of these tours can be found in S 1577.
