General Note
The exact nature of these spindles has not been determined. They have a finish on them that is peeling off. Their recovery is unusual as torreo worms have destroyed practically all the wood of the ship during the 2 centuries it has been underwater. The museum, owned by treasure diver Arthur McKee, is located at Treasure Harbor, U.S.1, on Plantation Key, 5 miles south of Tavernier.
