John came to Florida in 1879-1880. Had 10 children with first wife, Ida E. Park: 1. Governor Park Monroe Trammell, 1876-1936; 2. Judge Worth Washington Trammell, 1877-1944; 3. Wilma Estelle Trammell, 1879-1969; 4. John DeWitt Trammell, 1881-1945; 5. Lee Ripley Trammell, 1883-(death year unknown); 6. Pearl Sallie Trammell, 1885-1948; 7. Annie Maude Trammell, 1886-1886; 8. Eva Margaret Trammell, 1888-1917; 9. Emma Celeste Trammell, 1891-1978; 10. Ruth Willie Trammell, 1893-1959. Served as first mayor of Lakeland, FL, 1885; represented Polk County in Florida House of Representatives, 1891; served as superintendent of Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee for several years around the turn of the century (1900). Married Rebecca Harriet Wilson following death of first wife; they had one child, Wilson Trammell, 1903-1996.
