Justice Thomas Baltzell was born on July 11, 1804. He served as Florida Supreme Court Justice from January 1846 to 1851 and again from 1853-1859, winning the first popular elections for Chief Justice beginning his term in 1854. Thomas Baltzell died in January 1866.
