She was known as the "Bloomer Lady."
A lobbyist in the public interest from 1947 through 1973. She favored knickers, a corduroy shirt, lisle hose and a broad brimmed straw hat. She acquainted legislators with her ideas on legislation,expressed single spaced on legal size paper. She was against the inoculation of dogs for rabies, believing it spread the disease. She fought urban renewal, and fought a bill to require servants to present a health certificate to a prospective employee.
