Accompanying note: "This gaping egg-shaped hole, about 15-feet across and 26-feet deep started developing yesterday on the Florida State University campus west of the men's gym. Girls in background are students of Florida High School which is located on the university grounds. They took a break in their soccer game to inspect the strange sight. Their playing field is about 200-yards away from the hole. Robert Vernon, a state geologist, described the hole as a limestone sink and 'might not be seen again in half a century.'"
