Accompanying note: "This is the original headquarters building of Peninsular Telephone Company (now General Telephone Company of Florida) soon after it was placed in service in 1915. The offices were moved from the first home at Zack Street and Florida Avenue that year, and the Tampa office was changed to dial operations at the same time, becoming one of the first exchanges of its size to be dial operated."
