General Note
Accompanying note: "Original Tampa headquarters building of Peninsular Telephone Company (now General Telephone Company of Florida), soon after it was occupied in 1915. When the company moved into these quarters, Tampa became the first city of its size to have 100 per cent dial-operated telephones in 1915. Located at the corner of Zack and Morgan streets in downtown Tampa, the building is part of the company's present Tampa headquarters. Tampa's post office is in the background of this picture. A 12-story addition to this building (on site of frame house at lower left) was occupied in 1927. This building was remodeled extensively in 1952, when a fifth floor and penthouse were added."
