Four county sheriffs from Minnesota came to Florida to look over the state's almost completed Law Enforcement Academy in Tallahassee and the Florida Sheriff's Boys Ranch at Live Oak. Visitors said their state sheriff's organization planned to start a similar facility for boys in their state. Three of the sheriffs are in this group as they discuss the academy. From left are: Berwin Williams of Tallahassee, special agent for the Florida Sheriff's Bureau; Vern Martinson, Chisago County, Minnesota; Charles Carver, Rice County, Minnesota; John Madigan of Tallahassee, attorney for the Florida Sheriff's Association who provided the funds for the academy; and George Matson, Redwood County, Minnesota.
