General Note
Built in 1885 to carry passengers and cargo between the railhead at Cedar Keys and the mouth of the Anclote River, where they were transferred to the shallow draft "Mary Disston" for the trip to Tarpon Springs. The boat was named for the founder of Tarpon Springs Anson Peasely Killen Safford, governor of the Arizona Territory.
