General Note
During the dedication ceremony, water from Trenton, New Jersey (as the northern gateway of the Intracoastal Waterway) and Key West (as the southern gateway of the Intracoastal Waterway) were ceremonially splashed on the plaque to dedicate the station.
The Marine Welcome Station was phased out and demolished in the late 1980s, and in 1989, “Brett’s Waterway Cafe” was built on the site.
