- Accompanying note: "Workmen at Governor Bryant's official residence here start sifting sand for the mortar and brick that will finish the walls in the fallout shelter once a storage room under ground running the length of the mansion. Site will also be large enough for cabinet meetings and complete with communications systems so the state government can stay in business in case of a nuclear attack. Supervising this phase of the job is Chas. P. Walker, right, who has been superintendent of the executive residence for the past 20 years."
