Description
Newspaper advertisement announcing that an enslaved man named Miles had been captured and was being held at a jail in St. Marks. Miles had said he was enslaved by James McNeil of Montgomery County, Alabama.
Committed to Jail At St. marks, as a RUNAWAY, a Negro Man, who says his name is MILES, and that he belongs to James McNeil, of Montgomery County, Alabama. Said negro is about 5 feet 9 inches high, and about 24 years old; The owner of said Slave is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges and take him away. ROBERT LLOYD, Jailor.
