Rev. Oliver Evans McKeown was born in Chester District, S.C. on December 12, 1820. Moved to Gadsden Co. in early 1840s. Husband of Sidnah Flemmon Clark. He was instrumental in establishing the Concordia Baptist Church in 1858, where he was the first minister. Rev. McKeown was the first gbsordainedgcs minister of the Providence Baptist Church near Greensboro from 1857 until his death on September 1, 1868. Buried in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery (near Greensboro, FL) next to his wife Sidney Flemmon McKeown.
