Dear Dave:
We have very good reason to feel pleased with the present status of the Park project notwithstanding the interruptions to progress which have beset it. The recent action of the American Forestry Association Everglades Committee in sustaining that Association's earlier resolution in favor of national parkhood for the area in question will go far with other organizations and individuals and in official circles.
The more that is known regarding the proposed Park area the better for the cause. Seemingly the setbacks which have beset it have been largely due to lack of information regarding the area. Our Association has been an active factor in bringing to the fore the idea of national parkhood for the region and in supplying substantiating evidence and general information. Some of the claims made by proponents of the Park project have been so startling as to seem grotesque but when checked up have proved to be conservatively stated.
The Everglades National Park project is now in favor with both federal and state authorities, leading conservation organizations and individuals whose opinions are recognized as authoratative in national park matters. When the progress made by this Park project is compared with that of other national parks, within the time it has been before the public, we have ample evidence that the project itself is of outstanding merit. Otherwise it could not have forged ahead with such speed.

This association was organized and is maintained for the purpose of promoting acquaintance with the primeval wonders of America's continental tropics included in the Cape Sables and nearby Everglades region of South Florida--its scenic interests, varied plant and animal life. All of this native wild life is fascinating and many species are confined to this region.
To cooperate with measures leading to the preservation of this region as a great national park wherein all its forms of wild life will be protected, and its other varied charms of glades, tropic jungles, azure seas, emerald isles, lakes, rivers and beaches will be forever consecrated as a nature sanctuary.
Membership-annual members, $3.00 per year; sustaining members, $60.00 or more per year.
All members will receive bulletins and other printed matter issued by this association.
