General Note
In the early 1880s George Dakin bought property on the Saint Johns River near Georgetown and established Leonard there. In the next ten years Leonard developed a plantation called Racimo with 5000 orange trees, 40 workers and a large packing house. The grove was destroyed by the 1895 freeze. Leonard Dakin is in the buggy at the left.
