The monorail at Busch Gardens opened in 1966. The small suspended system operated boxy trains that used two propane fired, air cooled, aluminum Corvair engines per train to produce the AC power necessary for the electric motors.
Accompanying note: "The 'Skyrail Safari' begins its journey over the 'African Veldt.' The train is curving past 'Great Ape Island.' Many wild animals and birds will be viewed at close range by the Skyway Safari's passengers before the trip ends at the Monorail Station in Busch Gardens, located in Tampa, Florida, at Anheuser-Busch's famous Brewery."
