General Note
Born in Athens, Georgia on October 20, 1839 as the son of Nathaniel and Mary Mildred (Flournoy) Adams. He graduated from the University of Georgia and taught school in Hamilton County. Enlisted in a company commanded by Captain Frink, 5th Florida Regiment, and rose to Captain and was in command of his company at Gettysburg. He was imprisoned and never fully recovered his health. Later farmed and then "merchandized on a large scale" at White Springs. He married Sophia Broward in 1862 and was the father of 5 children. He was elected to the Florida Senate in 1870 and died on August 15, 1886.
