Marineland opened on June 23, 1938 as Marine Studios. Billed as the World's First Oceanarium.
Accompanying note: "A large crowd gathers on the top-deck of the circular oceanarium for the jumping porpoise feeding program at Marineland, the unusual marine attraction on Florida's East Coast. The center tank is home for countless sharks, rays, and interesting fish. In the Porpoise Stadium at the left, the 'educated' porpoises perform their feats."
