Florida Folk Festival encourages the use of folk songs, music, dances, legends, and kindred lore to help preserve the tradational expressions which reflect life as it has been lived in the United States and in other countries from which our eople come. Florida Folk Festival helps develop a genuine appreciation of the the universal similarity of folk traditions. The Festival includes the best examples of songs, dances, arts, crafts, and regional foods.
Florida Folk Festival features hundreds of perfomers and attracts many thousands of spectators in three days.
Florida Folk Festival is a colorful, entertaining and educational event that grows with the years. It is recognized as the outstanding folk festival in the south. Many musicians, singers, tale tellers, dance groups and soloists, craftsmen of native woods and foliage, and sellers of foods come every year and perform or sell their wares to the many who attend.
Florida Folk Festival is like a country fair with a crafts and foods midway, and the main show taking place on the outdoor stage under shady, moss-drapped trees. The place where old friends meet.
ACCOMODATIONS:
There are motels in White Springs; Lake City, 13 miles south; Jasper, 18 miles north; and Live Oak, 15 miles west. Write the above mentioned Chambers of Commerce for rate sheet on accommodations.
CAMPING:
O'Leno State Park, 32 miles south on U.S. 41; Suwannee River State Park, 28 miles west on U.S. 90; Ocean Pond, 30 miles east on U.S. 90
FOODS:
Tempting regional foods such as chicken and dumplings, chicken pilau, fish and hushpuppies, brabecue, fried chicken, ham, sausage and biscuits, cake and pies will be served everyday of the festival.
CRAFTS:
Many folk arts and crafts are featured in rustic midway booths. Quilting, basket making, carding and spinning, wood carving and other crafts are demonstrated, with products offered for sale. Also featured are ceramic pieces, rock and shell jewelry, straw brooms, pines and palmetto specialties, sunbonnets, dolls, aprons and other cloth products, jellies, relishes, honey and many other items.

Friday, May 1 - 10 a.m. ; 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 2 - 10 a.m. ; 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 3 - 10 a.m. ; 2 p.m.
EVERY PROGRAM IS DIFFERENT.
ADMISSION IS REGULAR GATE FEE TO MEMORIAL.

Tickets are good all day.
