Description

Letter written by Charles P. Murdock, a Methodist minister living near the Aucilla community (then called Williamsburg) in Jefferson County, to Governor William D. Bloxham, resigning his commission as a justice of the peace. Murdock asks to instead be commissioned as a notary public. On the reverse, Governor Bloxham indicates his acceptance of Murdock's resignation with his signature and the date of his action.
