Accompanying note: "The streets of the old section are very narrow, some of them only twelve or fifteeen feet wide, while one, Treasury Street, is but seven feet in width. These streets are lined with the old Spanish residences built of Coquina, a curious coral conglomerate, easily quarried but becoming of extreme hardness on long exposure to the air."
