The Lightner Museum was formerly the Alcazar Hotel built by Henry Flagler in 1888. In 1948 Otto C. Lightner, the Chicago publisher and editor of "Hobbies" magazine, converted the empty hotel into a museum. Three floors display his vast collection of art, antiques and other items. The building was later listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
Accompanying note: "A view of the Music Shop in the Victorian Village at Lightner Museum, King Street, St. Augustine, Florida. Shown is the 100 year old German Orchestrion, an 1891 Gem Roller Organ and the Stella Grand disc music box circa 1900. All in playing condition."
