Dear Roxcy:
The American Association of University Women, Miami Branch, is planning a special luncheon celebration August 26th, marking "Women's Rights Day", and commemorating the 52nd anniversary of women's right to vote.
United States Senator Edward J. Gurney, who introduced a bill in Congress which would designate August 26th as "Women's Rights Day", has accepted our invitation to be guest speaker. Since it was you who originated the idea of such a designation and persuaded the Senator to take this action, we would be honored to have you and Commander Bolton seated at the head table, where appropriate recognition could be given you for your outstanding contributions in the field of equal rights for women.
The luncheon will be held at the DuPont Plaza Hotel at 12:30 P.M. immediately following the straw ballot for President of the United States, which commences at 12 noon. In addition, there will be a [roll] call of outstanding women in the community, as selected by co-sponsoring organizations.
We look forward to your participation in the festivities August 26th. R.S.V.P. at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely yours,
[Signature] Estelle J.M. Greene, Co-Chairman
