Accompanying note: "U. S. S. Glover, the first Navy warship to be named for an Army officer, was named for General John Glover, Revolutionary War leader who transported General Washington's troops across the Delaware. USS Glover is a Garcia class ocean escort which has been modified for research and development to test new anti-submarine equipment and tactics. Length: 414 1/2 ft. Displacement: 3500 tons. Armament: ASROC, Dash, 5"38 gun. Home port: Newport, R.I."
