RESOLUTION BY THE FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY FACULTY SENATE
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 21, 1968

As professional educators we deplore the lack of financial support for education that has led so many of the teachers in the Florida public schools to resign from other posts. As a university faculty we have a deep concern for the quality of the preparation our students will receive from the elementary and secondary schools of the State if we lose our best teachers.
We share with all school teachers a commitment to higher quality education for the youth of Florida and we join with other teachers in urging the responsible public officials in the State to resolve the current crisis by providing the massive resources required.
The Faculty Senate recommends that each member of the faculty make a financial contribution to the Teacher Support Fund.
