Description

Poster showing the various insignia used by the divisions of the Office of Civilian Defense and their subsidiaries throughout the United States during World War II. The Office of Civilian Defense encouraged all citizens to volunteer in some capacity during the war - local defense councils handled wartime issues from child care to fuel conservation to ride sharing to fighting fires. The designs were patented by the U.S. Office of Civilian Defense.
