Dedicated in 1929, Bok Tower later became a National Historic Landmark and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
Accompanying note: "In Mr. Bok's most elaborate private room is an electric attachment to play the carillon in the event of the bellmaster's illness. This magnificent Singing Tower was erected by the late Edward W. Bok on the peak of Iron Mountain, the highest spot in Florida, where he converted an area of 48 acres into what has been called the most beautiful spot in the world."
