General Note
Opened on July 1, 1952, at a cost of $3,500,000 with 400 beds, as the W.T. Edwards Tuberculosis Hospital, it later became Sunland Hospital in 1968. The hospital closed in 1983, the State sold the site (building and 25 acres) in February 2006 and the building was demolished in September 2006.
