General Note
Battery Sevier (1916-1933) was a reinforced concrete, Endicott Period 10-inch coastal gun battery. It was named in G.O. 15 on April 25, 1916 after John Sevier - pioneer, soldier and the first Governor of Tennessee. This battery was constructed as a part of Battery Cullum and did not become a separate battery until 1916. It was deactivated in 1933.
