Showing the weather bureau flags and "Celestial Railroad" dock with steamers at the far right. The steamer moored at the dock on the far right looks like the Rockledge, a side-wheeler on which Captain Paddison brought President and Mrs. Grover Cleveland down Indian River, and which was later moored at Jupiter as a floating hotel.

The "Celestial Railroad" was so named because the stations along its route were named Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Juno. Construction of the narrow gauge Jupiter & Lake Worth Railroad began in 1889 and was operating by April of 1890. It was part of the Plant System. British writer Julian Ralph is credited with the nickname from a March 1893 Harper's New Monthly Magazine article where he noted the station names along the line. The "Celestial Railroad" was dismantled in 1896.
