Accompanying note: "Pretty Darlyne Joyce, 22, daughter of Sheriff W. P. Joyce, is one of six women deputies in the Leon County Sheriff's Office. Miss Joyce, here getting a bundle of papers from 'the boss' to work on, processes permanent records and handles correspondence on criminals. Four other deputies handle similar clerical duties, and the other is the matron in charge of women prisoners at the county jail. And watch it boys - they all have full powers of arrest."
