The Tallahassee Democrat newspaper was founded in 1905 and located at 115 S. Adams St. from 1909-1953. In 1953, it moved to 100 E. Call St., and in 1968 to its present (2012) location at 277 N. Magnolia Drive.
Accompanying note: "Tallahassee Democrat editor Malcolm Johnson, left, and publisher Jack Tapers, right, sit with James Knight, president of Knight Newspapers in the newspaper's conference room, shortly after the May 1968 opening of the newspaper's new building at 277 No. Magnolia Drive. Knight Newspapers bought the Democrat from Audrey Griscom in 1965. Griscom had inherited the paper after the death of her husband Lloyd Griscom in 1959."
