Description

This document was copied down by a WPA worker from the Miscellaneous Record books of Lake County. It is a 1913 proclamation signed by Henry L. Burdette and John Taylor, residents of Zion City, Illinois belonging to a religious group led by John Alexander Dowie. The proclamation announces the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Newspaper reports indicate that thisd proclamation was sent to multiple churches around the United States with the request that it be recorded in the official records of the various counties. Clerk of Courts B.M. Robinson signed the original document.
