Constituted 1874. First services held in school house, then at Union Church (see entry ) used by all denominations until first church erected near cemetery in 1912, destroyed by fire, 1936. Meetings then held in homes until present unpainted, square, frame building erected 300 feet south of center of town; completed enough to hold services in 1939. A quarter-time church, meeting 4th Sunday. Present membership, 154. Active organizations, Sunday School, Woman’s Missionary Society. Earliest known pastor, Rev. Mr. Glover, 1912-13. Present pastor, E.H.S. Beal, 1930--, Altha.
