Gov. Haydon Burns introduces this film describing the reasons, location and other details of the Cross Florida Barge Canal. The canal was being built at the time the film was made. The film has illustrations showing proposed design, testimony by the geologist, sequences of Florida industry, footage of flooding in March 1960 and an enemy submarine threat sequence.
