General Note
Flag was captured by Ohio troops during the Civil War. It was presented to representatives of Florida by the Ohio Historical Society and the Ohio Battle Flag Preservation Committee. Ceremony took place in the New Ohio Historical Society Museum in Columbus. Left to right: Joe Thatcher, Assistant Curator of History; Robert D. Needham, flag artist for the Ohio Battle Flag Preservation Committee; Lt. Col. William B. Haines, Head of the Ohio Battle Flag Preservation Committee; Former Sen. Robert Williams, Director of the Division of Archives, History, and Records Management, Florida Department of State. The flag has been in the collections of the Museum of Florida History since 1999.
