Description

  • One reel to reel recording (24:21 minutes). A collection of several radio stories that was sent to Florida schools. Includes Fred Beaver talking about the Suwannee River; Story of Oh! Suzanna; Mark Moore; Story of Tioga Waltz (Foster's first song); Music by the Amigo Male Singers; Story of Josie Billie; Tininkling by David and Estrella Larioza; and tall tales by Lem Griffis. These programs were created in the early 1960s by the Stephen Foster Memorial to promote the park and its activities, as well as to educate the public about Stephen Foster and Florida folk music.
