The honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree was presented to Mr. Morris during a joint session of the legislature.
Identified in the photograph on the dais (L-R): Supreme Court Justices B.K. Roberts, Richard Ervin, James Adkins and Joseph Boyd. On the House floor are Dr. Daisy Parker Flory, Allen Morris and FSU President J. Stanley Marshall.
Mr. Morris was an author, historian, Clerk and Clerk Emeritas of the Florida House of Representatives for 29 1/2 years. Initiated the photographic archives which is now the photo collection of the Florida State Archives.
