    Biography Note

  • Frye was the Capitol Bureau Chief for the United Press International from 1944-1982. She reported on Florida politics under 11 governors. She was known for accuracy and fairness and is credited with changing the direction of Florida government through her carefully researched writing. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania she earned a journalism degree at the University of Georgia. 1984 Women's Hall of Fame recipient.
