Lehigh Acres got its start in the mid 1950s when Chicago businessman Lee Ratner needed a tax shelter. He bought 18,000 acres of land in eastern Lee County and named it the Lucky Lee Ranch. Later Ratner joined with developers and began land sales at Lehigh Acres in 1954.
Biographical Note
Photographer Elmer Leroy Keller was born on January 13, 1905 in Elyria, Ohio. He married Elsie G. Ridgeway about 1926. Mr. Keller died on May 10, 1994 in Avon, Ohio.
