Oak-Griner Baptist Church was founded on October 16, 1915 and started in the Griner Farm School house located at the crossroads just South of the present church. It was named Griner Farm Baptist Church and Rev. R. J. Gorbet became the first pastor. There were 44 charter members.
Later called the Oak Griner Christian School.
