Inventor J.C. Thomas of St. Augustine built this "windmobile" around 1940. Battery turned the propeller on the front of the car which in turn generated electricity, charging the machine's twelve storage batteries. An electric motor powered the car up to speeds of fifty miles an hour. Thomas estimated the car cost one quarter of a cent per mile to operate.
