General Note
Paxon High School was built in Jacksonville's Westside in 1954 on the site of the old Paxon Air Field. Located on 5th Street, the road was renamed Norman E. Thagard Boulevard for the astronaut and former Paxon student. In 1996, the school became Paxon School for Advanced Studies, a college prep school.
