General Note
To avoid the fees to lift his boat at the city marina, shrimper Kight docked his boat on a local sand bar, and waited for low tide in order to scrape the barnacles from the bottom of his vessel.
Buddy Kight had been shrimping the waters off Horseshoe Beach since he was 12 years old. His father, Lloyd Kight Sr., ran Kight Shrimp Company and was mayor of the town in the 1980s.
