  • Under the guns of the U.S.S. Atlanta, the C.S.S. Florida was captured by the U.S.S. Wachusset in the harbor of Bahia, Brazil on October 7, 1864. It was sunk on arrival at Hampton Roads in a collision with the U. S. Army transport "Alliance" on November 28, 1864.
