The dimensions of this schooner are 133.1' long, 31.2' wide, 6.8' draft, with a gross tonnage of 309 and net 206. It was built at Rockland, Maine by J.D. Snow and Company in 1902. Named for U.S. Army Brigadier General William Henry Bisbee (1840 - 1942).
Bought in 1936 by Victor B. Bendix in the interest of Tampa's Gasparilla Festival. Bendix resold her "as is" for $3,150 to Captain G.A. Hanson of Tampa who was commander of Ye Mystic Krewe. She was soon transformed into the pirate ship Jose Gaspar and served from 1938 to 1957 in Gasparilla.
