Johnson was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Confederate States of America Army. He married Carolina Ann Richardson. He was father of Carolina Ann Johnson who was the mother of Thomas H. Bond and grandmother of Thomas O. Bond.
Hampton's Brigade was not the same as the Confederate States of America Army Hampton Legion.
Biographical Note
Johnson served in the Civil War in Hampton's Brigade and was killed at the First Battle of Manassas.
The First Battle of Manassas also known as First Battle of Bull Run fought in Virginia in 1861.
The Brigade reformed under Wade Hampton utilizing some members of the former Hampton Legion.
