General Note
Built on the former site of St. James Academy, the Episcopal Church school at the southern end of South Sixth (College) Street. Built 1922 occupied 1923. Later a one story unit was added for the high school. Eventually the one story unit became Macclenny Elementary School and the two story building was used as the High School. In 1930 students from Glen St. Mary were consolidated with Macclenny students and the school was referred to as Macclenny-Glen High School. It remained so until 1955-56 when the new Baker County High School located behind this brick building was built. This building was used for extra classroom space until 1969 when it was destroyed.
